Rated Africa's Number One Safari Outfitter by National Geographic Adventure
"The best part of Thornton's company was that these guys had obviously scoped out the areas well, and knew the best places to walk. I don't think that there is another outfit that could have offered the same trip." T. KISHIMOTO

REMOTE WALKING SAFARI AREAS

Most of our safaris focus on remote wildlife areas where there are no camps, no tourists, and often no roads. After many years of exploring the bush, we have a remarkable diversity of wilderness areas to take our guests to. It is a rare privilege to have access to such massive blocks of pristine habitat exclusivity for our use.

On many safaris we combine some days in the remote wilderness with some days in the famous wildlife areas like Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. On other trips, people decide to combine 2 or even 3 different remote areas on one trip for a real bush immersion.

In Tanzania, the national park association designates large areas of each park as pristine conservation zones. These areas are largely roadless and off limits. However, for our extended walks, we have been granted rights to access and explore these magical regions which hark back to the days when the savannah was, in fact, endless. We can walk amidst the wildebeest on the high plains of the Serengeti or stalk elephant in the rugged Tarangire bush country or wander the river systems of Ruaha full of hippos and crocs.

In areas outside of the parks, such as Yaeda Valley and the Maasai Steppe, we have long-standing community-based conservation partnerships with the local Maasai and Hadza people, enabling us to have exclusive access to these beautiful wildlife areas. This benefits the local communities, preserves the land and offers our clients a chance to explore the wildlife and have authentic cultural experiences in a responsible and respectful way.
