The CHIMPS OF MAHALE 

Mahale is about the chimps - close encounters with our closest relative, observing their remarkable behaviour, following them on mountain forest trails straight out of Tarzan. We observe families, dominant males, mothers caring for their young, adolescents eating figs, adults hunting red colobus monkeys. It is all here. Many of our guests leave this forest feeling like they have undergone a life changing experience.  

Mahale is also about the lake, a magnificent, gentle sea with crystal clear, warm waters that remind one of Zanzibar and the Indian Ocean. We boat each afternoon, casting a line for fish and swan-diving off the bow of the ‘sundowner boat’. Camp is eccentric, barefoot luxury and one of our favourite retreats in Africa with rich conversation, breezy luxurious bandas and fantastic food and drink. It doesn't get more magical than this folks!
