Giraffe and zebra on the plains of Serengeti National Park

Serengeti walking safaris

ENORMOUS, ROADLESS AND WILD. This is the classic safari landscape of acacia trees and lions, huge skies and endless views. Ideal for real bush immersion and you never set foot in a vehicle. We are blessed with exclusive use of an almost 500 square kilometer section of Serengeti National Park for walking safaris ranging from 3 days to our epic 10 day, 100 kilometer Great Serengeti Traverse. A walking safari here will take you back in time and offer a chance to explore Africa's most famous park in remarkable seclusion.

In our area, the terrain is open acacia savanna dotted with magnificent rocky outcrops (kopjes), rolling hills, and several river systems. Wildlife is pure Serengeti with elephant, a dozen species of antelope, leopard, lion and numerous large buffalo herds commonly seen. On a typical walk, one is regularly spotting and stalking various species from eland and zebra to giraffe and warthog. One can also discover hidden caves with Maasai rock art or ancient stone tools scattered on the plains. The climate is mild with sunny days and cool nights. Perfect walking weather.

It was a safari in the literal sense. A true journey, out of the West and into Africa. Instead of seeing the bush, you helped us experience it.
