The Okavango Delta

Okavango: It’s to Southern Africa what the Serengeti is to East Africa. One of the great natural wonders on earth, the Delta is unique. It’s all about the water, cruising through the wetlands in dugouts and spotting elephant, hippos, birds, crocs. Iconic areas like Chief’s Island also offer some of the finest big cat and wild dog viewing on earth. Here we find the finest luxurious camps in Africa, but also some off-the-route camps and walking trails for those who want to enjoy a more old-fashioned Delta experience. Further afield, we enjoy the exclusive Linyanti concession, Kwando River and the famous elephant park of Chobe.

VICTORIA FALLS

The Zambezi River and the Falls. Just the roar of these great falls is perhaps enough. But there is so much more to this epicenter of water, wildlife and adventure. The introverts of us can kick back at very cool camps and enjoy mellow rivers cruises. For others… well, how far do you want to go: bungee jumping, helicopter tours, rafting, wildlife and walking safaris are all possible.

From the historic hotels of the area to secluded bush camps and island retreats, there is a place for everyone. Vic Falls is also a perfect launch or way to finish off a safari in Botswana’s Okavango Delta.

KALAHARI & THE SKELETON COAST

Deserts captivate our imagination. Perhaps, it’s the stark beauty, the isolated wonders of life, or the history of humankind present before us. Ever-pronounceable Makgadikgadi Pan or the red dunes of the Namib Desert take us into this bleached landscape to sleep under the stars and explore one of the great landscapes on earth. For a stark place, the camps can be astonishing in their elegance, but there always remains an option for those who prefer to sleep under the stars and live in the desert more simply. For the ultimate desert experience, embark on a 3 day flying safari up the Skeleton Coast to track desert rhino.

CAPE TOWN

On the Southern tip of Africa awaits the Cape of Good Hope and the ‘Mother City’ of Africa: Cape Town. The Cape Winelands, Table Mountain, Cape Point, and historic Robben Island are all easy day trips providing much to do in a few days or a few weeks.

A visit to Cape Town fits in easily after a safari in Botswana with daily non-stop flights. You can enjoy your morning coffee watching elephants in the Delta and by afternoon be indulging in Cape oysters and Stellenbosch sauvignon blanc overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. For the active, we can hike, dive with great white sharks or see the penguins of Simonstown. For others, it can be about the country’s complex  history or the luxuries of the finest hotels and restaurants in Africa.
